MAN CITY 1-1 LIVERPOOL: AGUERO TO THE RESCUE AS CITY ARE HELD AT HOME
Manchester City played out an entertaining draw at the Etihad against a very exiting liverpool side.
It was a wet Sunday evening and City desperate for a good result after being eliminated from the Champions League had the first real chance of the game. It fell to Fernadinho who was playing as a makeshift rightback.
David Silva cross into the box was somehow missed by Raheem Sterling under pressure from James Milner. The ball fell for Fernadinho who could only find the side netting.
Liverpool had their chances too with Willy Caballero pulling off impressive saves to deny Philip Coutinho and Adam Lallana before half time.
After the break Liverpool continued to attack and where awarded a penalty in the 51th minutes when Gael Clichy brought down Firmino.
James Milner sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to silence the home fans who have boo him from the first whistle.
In the 69th minutes City where level through Sergio Aguero turning a Kelvin de Bruyne's cross.
From there on it was end to end with De bruyne hitting the post and Aguero missing a host of chances.
Adam Lallana could have won it for the visitors but somehow failed to make contact with the ball after being set up by Roberto Firmino.
A draw was a fair result but it was really amazing how the game managed to end with just two goals.
